MSSQL database storage space allotted is mainly divided into number pages, with each page being 8 KB in size. The page has a 96 byte header where the metadata of the page is stored and also the page numbering, page type and free space of the page along with the ID of the object is stored here. Page type tells us the data contained in that particular page, data sorted in the particular database, index and a map which has the information about pages which are allocated to tables and indexes.
